"The Snow Goose" is based on the novella "The Snow Goose" written by Paul Gallico in Later issues include "Music Inspired By" on the cover due to Paul Gallico's publishers had threatened to put a court injunction on the album.   2. The reason to revisit this classic album seems to have been to arrange it solely for the band, without the original orchestral influences, and this has given this new Snow Goose a real edge - it's still totally recognisable, but sharper, more rock /5(89).

  6. One of Camel's bandmembers suggested doing an entire album based on a book. A number of books were eligible but the emotional appeal to The Snow Goose by Paul Gallico was so strong they started writing and recording a concept album that would portray their vision of the story. The result, the instrumental The Snow Goose, turned out to be their breakthrough.
